Channel Your Inner Chef with These King of Prussia Culinary Treasures
Summer is one of the best times of the year to let out your inner chef.
‘Tis the season of fresh fruit, versatile vegetables and succulent seafood. If you can find your produce fresh and locally, directly from your famer to your table, even better. King of Prussia is home to a plethora of stores dedicated to creating that perfect meal.
Farmers Market
The Upper Merion Farmers Market recently opened in its new location at Nor-View Farm (670 N. Henderson Rd. in in King of Prussia), offering baked goods, artisanal cheeses, locally-grown fruits and vegetables, grass-fed meat and eggs and special vendors each week. You’ll even find a number of handmade products at the Market, including candles, pottery and jewelry.
Groceries
Wegmans, located in King of Prussia Town Center, offers everything from fresh fish to the baking dish you cook it in. Local and hard-to-find ingredients fill the shelves at this fan-favorite grocery store. Wegmans also has an impressive wine and beer selection, making this a one-stop shop when putting together a special meal. Really want to set the scene? Stop by their floral department for a unique plant or bouquet of locally-sourced flowers.
Cookware
Getting serious about your baking and braising? Le Creuset’s enameled cast iron cookware is known as the gold-standard and has graced the kitchens of the best chefs around the world for generations. While Le Creuset carries a wide array of cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools and serving pieces, they are perhaps best known for their versatile and durable Dutch ovens. Collectors often look for its yearly ‘signature’ color (this year it’s Shallot!). Check out this gem in the Court at the King of Prussia Mall.
Condiments
Looking to elevate that dish? Head over to Williams-Sonoma in King of Prussia Town Center. In additional to fabulous cookware and serve ware, King of Prussia Williams-Sonoma has a huge variety of sauces, spices, mixes, starters and condiments. At any given time, you can find a demo of some sort, from hot sauce to infused oils to French finishing salt to jams and jellies. They offer cooking classes, too. Keep your eye on the Williams-Sonoma recipe section to try something new.
Cooking Classes
If you’re ready to go next level in your culinary journey, cooking classes are a must. At the Court in King of Prussia Mall, Sur la Table offers unique cooking classes that take you through an entire three-course meal. The best part is enjoying the fruits of your labor afterwards. An expert chef will help you create something magical in the kitchen, whether it’s fresh pasta, flavorful Thai dishes or mouth-watering macarons. These hands-on classes integrate attendees into every part of the meal-making process, from learning proper knife skills to slice tomatoes for your starter salad, to kneading dough for your delectable dessert. Upcoming classes include Bold Tuscan Flavors, Surf and Turf and Touring Southeast Asia. There is even a summer kids series for budding young chefs
