In depth interviews provide insight into the companies that make up our diverse business community and put a face to the individuals behind the business. In this edition, we are joined by Dr. Abhi Kasinadhuni of SpartanMD.

Can you give us a little background into SpartanMD and your role?

My name is Dr. Abhi Kasinadhuni, my patients and staff call me Dr. Kas. I have a background in Internal and Vascular Medicine with a specialty in venous and lymphatic disease focusing mainly on vein disease and ailments related to the veins. While training for my fellowship, I realized that many of my patients were interested in getting their veins fixed (like spider veins), which goes hand in hand with skin aesthetics. Since many professionals have practices centralized around aesthetics, my goal shifted to making this space better and more unique.

In 2021, I came across the niche of men’s medical aesthetics. As a man and a medical professional, I thought this was a wonderful concept and immediately saw the need for this type of space. Not long after, I opened a SpartanMD in King of Prussia and then a second location in San Diego.

What sets us apart is that this business is more than just providing aesthetic services. It’s more of a mental health space. The relationships I’ve built and the conversations I have with my patients are therapeutic. My patients discuss their issues and insecurities because we’ve created a safe space for them to feel comfortable having aesthetic procedures. As we grow, we plan to branch out into more expansive services such as mental health, primary care, dermatology and skin care products, making men a priority and not an afterthought. We want to be that brand where you find us and say, without a doubt, this was made for me. We are focused on trust; our patients come back because of the relationship and trust we’ve built. As a side note, we also see and treat women. In fact, they account for 30% of our clientele.  We have a beautiful and comfortable space where both men and women alike love being here.

What motivated you to establish the SpartanMD in King of Prussia?

When I was deciding where I wanted to open SpartanMD, King of Prussia’s availability for space aligned with my timeline and it was really the best out of all other options. I chose King of Prussia because I’m very familiar with the area and because it is so much more accessible than other areas. I love that every single highway comes through here. With this location, I have patients who come in from New Jersey, Scranton, Allentown, New York and beyond. When we have technicians fly in from other states, it’s very easy for them to get to KOP and our facility. Once they arrive, they have everything and anything they need including hotels, restaurants and shops.

King of Prussia has everything that allows us to provide concierge-level service. We have a white glove service where arrange a hotel, meals and transportation for someone who is coming in from further away. KOP makes this so easy to coordinate because it really has anything we need. Eventually, we want to be present all along the East Coast.

What are some of your favorite things to do in KOP?

I love the food scene in King of Prussia. We have access to a wide variety of restaurants all within 2-3 minutes, anything from high-end dining to mom-and-pop shops. Typically, if you’re not in a downtown city area you wouldn’t get such a variety of restaurants, but KOP has so many good options that are convenient and affordable.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about moving their company to KOP?

King of Prussia is very pro-business. As a business owner, they made opening an easy process. There were no issues with permits while we were building out our space. We didn’t have any major hassles and I know my colleagues who have set up locations in other places that cannot say the same. We really had a smooth transition from building our space to launching, it’s been a very encouraging experience.
