First Avenue Linear Park Soon to Debut New Programming
With Phase 1 complete, King of Prussia District is partnering with property owners along the First Avenue Linear Park to organize special events, recreational activities and amenities for employees and residents to enjoy. Along with maintaining and improving the multimodal trail, programming exciting activities throughout the park is a key component in making this mixed-use district inviting for commercial tenants, residents and visitors. This initiative is even more important as part of a broader return-to-office strategy.
A crucial component of the Linear Park’s development is a public access easement ranging in widths from 10 ft to 50 ft. This access easement was provided by property owners participating in the program and will allow the creation of a continuous path between North Gulph Rd. and Allendale Rd. when future Linear Park phases are complete.
Potential programming for the Linear Park includes live music, food trucks, pop-up fitness classes, games, public art installations and holiday displays. There are also opportunities to create permanent amenities like container gardens, solar-powered workstations and gaming tables.
Programming entertaining events and introducing new amenities is part of the strategy to maximize the return on investment made by King of Prussia District, funding agencies and participating property owners. Besides offering low-to-no-cost entertainment and recreational activities, a study conducted by the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association and ConservationTools.org found that trails:
- increase the value of nearby properties
- make communities more attractive places to live (when considering where to move, home buyers rank walking and biking paths as one of the most important features of a new community)
- influence business location and relocation decisions (companies often choose to locate in communities that offer a high level of amenities [such as trails] to employees as a means of attracting and retaining top-level workers)
Multimodal infrastructure improvements and programming take on even greater significance when part of commercial property return-to-office strategies. Do you live, work or recreate in Moore Park?
