Landscaped Medians Sprouting Soon in Renaissance Park

King of Prussia District is excited to install our first landscaped medians in Renaissance Park this fall. Stuart & Associates, a landscape architecture and planning firm in King of Prussia, has curated a beautiful planting palette of perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs and ground cover, including bulbs to bring a pop of color to the canvas each spring. The planting of 2,200 feet of island medians is in direct response to the 2020 Renaissance Park Stakeholder Engagement Study, which highlighted the need to improve plantings beds at the office park gateways. You can expect to see the existing picturesque cherry trees complimented by plenty of new flora, including chokeberry, hydrangea, sumac, nepeta, fountain grass, wood spurge and shasta daisy.

Since 2011, King of Prussia District has installed and maintained 29 vibrant landscapes in roadway island medians on First Avenue, Route 202, Allendale Road, Henderson Road and I-76. Not just pleasing to the eyes, green medians also reduce noise pollution and stormwater runoff as well as improve air quality. Aside from the environmental benefits, landscaped medians are a proven method for reducing vehicle speeds on busy roadways and creating safer transportation corridors that let motorists know they are in King of Prussia.
