KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The King of Prussia District wants to help keep the community active and engaged — at a distance.
It launched a series of free virtual events, which can be found on the district’s social media pages, to keep the Upper Merion community connected while living under stay-at-home orders issued by Gov. Tom Wolf.
Rachel Ammon, marketing director for the King of Prussia District, said there are different activities each day led by the “KOP Quaranteam.”
“Move Monday, which are fitness classes with instructors from King of Prussia fitness studios,” she said. “We’re running a social media contest on Tuesday called Takeout Tuesdays highlighting some of the great restaurants that are open for carryout or delivery.
“On Wednesday we’re going to be launching something called Hump Day How-To’s featuring King of Prussia businesses showing you how to do fun things at home, like spa treatments or gardening tips.”
On Thursdays, tune in for a virtual Couch Concert featuring entertainers performing live from their living rooms. This week’s local musicians are Emily Drinker and Jackson Howard.
Ammon said the group is also soliciting support for the Upper Merion Community Cupboard, which helps families in the area with food insufficiency.
The governor’s statewide stay-at-home order is in effect until at least April 30.
