First Look at Moore Road Multimodal Trail

On September 1, King of Prussia District and Simone Collins presented initial designs for the Moore Road Multimodal Trail to the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors. Once grant funding is secured, the proposed pedestrian and bike trail will stretch from First Avenue to the Schuylkill River Trail West (SRTW) and include amenities like seating areas, pedestrian lighting and vibrant landscaping.

This trail will promote multimodal options for workers, residents and visitors in Moore Park.  The connection between Moore Park and the SRTW leads to Valley Forge National Historical Park and the Circuit Trails, one of America’s largest trail networks with hundreds of miles of multi-use trails throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. Ultimately these pedestrian and bicycle networks provide transportation options both recreationally and for commuters, which take cars off the roads to ease traffic congestion.

Next steps include gathering additional stakeholder input and finalizing the design. After final designs are produced and bikeway easements acquired, King of Prussia District will apply for grant funding to construct the trail, connecting the existing mix of properties with exciting future developments like Topgolf, Amazon, Mancill Mill Road Townhomes and the proposed King of Prussia Rail Station.
