Looking to fulfill a dream of owning their own business, longtime Montgomery County residents Rob and Mary Sykes opened ARCpoint Labs of King of Prussia in July 2017. Based in Greenville, S.C., ARCpoint Labs is a national third-party provider and administrator of confidential drug, alcohol, DNA and steroid testing, as well as employment background, wellness screening and corporate wellness programs.

A national franchise with over 110 locations across the country, ARCpoint Franchise Group has plans to grow to over 300 franchise locations nationwide by 2020.

For the past 26 years, Rob worked in the accounting and corporate tax world (including mergers and acquisitions and international tax) in King of Prussia. Mary’s primary focus was raising their seven children while also working various part-time positions, most recently as a legal administrative assistant. After a corporate reorganization in July 2016, Rob and Mary decided to start a new chapter in their lives by becoming small-business owners. They chose to locate their new lab in King of Prussia, at 1012 West Ninth Ave.

“We wanted to start a business together that would ideally enable us to provide services to both businesses as well as consumers while not requiring substantial infrastructure,” Rob said. “We looked at many different opportunities and ARCpoint Labs kept coming to the top of the list with multiple service offerings to both businesses and consumers with the power of a nationally recognized franchisor to support the business. We make a personal commitment to have a positive contribution to the community while providing our clients with the highest quality of products coupled with superior customer service.”

“Our mission at ARCpoint Labs of King of Prussia is to help ensure that employees have a safe work place and at the same time help employers reduce liabilities and risk by having proper drug and alcohol policies in place,” Mary said. “Our services include pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, federally mandated drug and alcohol testing as well as DNA ancestry and paternity testing.”

On-site, post-accident and emergency services are also available. Expansion into clinical services is slated for 2018.
