Valley Forge Casino Resort hosts Cocktail Competition to benefit Toys for Tots

Some of the area’s best bartenders will be tempting Santa with their most festive libations on Thursday when Valley Forge Casino Resort Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Center host a Holiday Cocktail Competition.

Benefitting Toys for Tots, the event for those 21 and over will take place at The Venue, located in Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 First Ave., King of Prussia, from 6 to 8 p.m.

“We’re excited to bring the community together for this one-night-only experience featuring cocktail creations from some of the top restaurants in the area hoping to win the final vote from both the judges and the guests,” said Dave Zerfing, General Manager, Valley Forge Casino Resort.

Participating restaurants include, Revolution Chop House, Mistral, Founding Farmers, Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, Davio’s, Savona, Five Saints Distilling and Conshy Girls Catering.

Paul Foglia, manager of Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, revealed how Paladar plans on winning Santa’s heart with its customer-pleasing Hot Buttered Rum.

“This rum features Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum from St. Lucia, house-made hot buttered rum mix (butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg), topped with whipped cream, rum butterscotch syrup and spiced almonds,” he said.

The winner will receive an exclusive gift, trophy and of course, bragging rights. Additionally, a second winner will be announced based on a final guest “people’s choice” vote at the end of the night.

Each restaurant will be spotlighted as they compete and are judged by a The panel of judges will include Eric Goldstein of King of Prussia District, Greg Waks of Upper Merion Township, and radio personality, Marilyn Russell, who will judge drinks based on key components ranging from recipe and ingredients, showmanship and presentation and taste.

The evening will feature live music and food specials for purchase including, turkey wraps, cheese platters, chilled crab dip, crostinis and more.Tickets are $5 and are available at All proceeds benefit Toys for Tots. Guests are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts to be donated to the organization, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
