A KOP Insiders Exclusive at Uma Cafe & Peruvian Restaurant with Pia Abrill Feigley
The recently opened Uma Cafe & Peruvian Restaurant brings a fresh take to the neighborhood café, blending comfort with the vibrant flavors of Peru.
From the moment guests walk in, the space strikes a balance between casual and curated. It’s a place where you can grab a quick, expertly made cappuccino or settle in and explore a menu rooted in family tradition.
“We’re a café and a restaurant,” says owner Pia Abrill Feigley. “We have a really strong coffee program, but we also bring in the Peruvian side, so people can start small or really dive in.”
That coffee is a point of pride. Uma partners with local roasteries that work directly with farmers, offering single-origin beans roasted just days before they’re served. For many regulars, that’s reason enough to stop in.
“We have a lot of people that come just for the coffee,” she says. “You can taste how fresh it is.”
But it’s also the food that turns first-time visitors into repeat customers. Drawing from recipes she grew up with, Feigley has built a menu that introduces Peruvian cuisine in an approachable way—from breakfast sandwiches layered with fried pork and sweet potato to rotisserie chicken and lomo saltado.
“In Peru, this is everyday food,” she says. “It’s what I grew up eating. Fresh, flavorful and not overly heavy. We just brought that here.”
The rotisserie chicken, in particular, reflects that philosophy. Prepared without butter or oil, it’s a lighter take on a beloved staple that’s deeply rooted in Peruvian culture.
“Families in Peru go out for rotisserie chicken on the weekends,” she says. “It’s simple, it’s healthy and everyone loves it.”
For Feigley, opening her family business in King of Prussia was personal.
“This is where we live,” she says. “We’ve built our life here. We wanted to create something that felt local, something the community could connect with.”
That connection has been immediate. From residents in nearby buildings to local parent groups and visitors from surrounding areas, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
“People come in, they talk to us—we’re here every day,” she says. “It feels like a real neighborhood place.”
That steady mix of locals and visitors showcases one of the advantages of the area, where built-in foot traffic and a diverse audience create constant buzz.
“It’s very diverse, and there’s a lot of traffic,” Feigley says. “Everyone seems open to trying something new.”
And increasingly, they are.
“I always tell people, just try it. You’ll like it,” she says. “In the next month or so, we’re adding more dishes and hopefully opening for dinner.”
It’s a natural next step for a place that already feels like a staple.
At its core, Uma Cafe & Peruvian Restaurant is about bringing people together through fresh, vibrant flavors and creating a space that feels welcoming, personal and deeply connected to the community it serves.
