Solar Eclipse Viewing @ Valley Forge Park
Apr 8, 2024
2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Valley Forge National Historical Park
Come to Valley Forge National Park to experience this year’s Solar Eclipse! Join park staff and volunteers at the Wayne’s Woods picnic area (weather permitting) to pick up eclipse glasses (while supplies last), as well as Junior Ranger Eclipse Explorer booklets and badges. The peak of the eclipse will be seen from 90% totality at about 3:23pm.
Additionally, there will be a craft for kids, a volunteer from Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers will have a solar telescope set up, and ranger Steve Walter will give a talk about the historical eclipses that the Continental Army experienced in January of 1777 and on June 24, 1778 – just a few days after marching out of Valley Forge.
