Renaissance Park Connectivity: A New Vision
In 2024, King of Prussia District released the Renaissance Park Connectivity Master Plan. This report, completed by Simone Collins Landscape Architecture and Traffic Planning and Design, outlines pedestrian, bicycle and roadway links between commercial properties and residential neighborhoods. New bike lanes, sidewalks, sharrows, a roundabout and multimodal trails make up the bulk of transportation improvements, with additional amenities like public spaces for parklets, special events and outdoor art.
The next step to bring these improvements to fruition is the Renaissance Park Roadway Design and Traffic Study. King of Prussia District’s objective is to reconfigure Renaissance Boulevard and Horizon Drive with the concepts outlined in the 2024 Renaissance Park Connectivity Study and define opportunities for pedestrian and bicycle improvements in the right of way. The new roadway layout will consist of one through-lane in each direction, with the addition of turn lanes and bicycle lanes. A traffic rotary with pedestrian crosswalks and flashing lights at the Renaissance Boulevard and Horizon Drive intersection will also be considered.
The design RFP will be issued later this month to prepare the traffic study, design documentation and bid package necessary to implement the desired reconfiguration of the roadway in accordance with state and local regulations.
