Throughout the year, King of Prussia District, on behalf of our stakeholders, is proud to support a number of incredible organizations that are serving the residents of Upper Merion Township. Investing in these organizations helps to strengthen the community at large, and builds a stronger connection between Upper Merion Township’s residents and business community.

Here’s a roundup of some of our recent partnerships:

Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard

The Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) is a food pantry that is open to anyone who lives within the bounds of the Upper Merion Area School District and is hungry or food insufficient. Housed in the Valley Forge Presbyterian Church (191 Town Center Road), the UMACC is open every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 AM or 5:30-7:30 PM. In its first year, UMACC has served 170 families, reaching more than 400 local patrons. King of Prussia District has supported UMACC through our holiday food drive since 2017, and also recently sponsored UMACC’s one-year-anniversary open house.

Since the first awards ceremony (known as Ivy Day) in 1991, over $494,000 has been awarded to students based on financial need, academic record and extracurricular activities. King of Prussia District has supported the Scholarship Fund for the past two years, with two students receiving scholarships of $1,500 each in 2018, and three students receiving scholarships of $1,000 each in 2019.

The Upper Merion Area Educational Foundation (UMAEF) is committed to the continuing advancement of public education in the school district by providing funds for educational activities and programs through engagement and collaboration with parents, school staff, community members and businesses. Through an application process, teachers are given grants for projects that supplement and complement basic educational programs in the areas of Technology, Arts, Scholastic Enhancement and Cultural Enrichment. In the 2018/2019 school year, King of Prussia District donated $3,000 to the Foundation which was used to fund a motivational talk for 5th to 8th grade ELA/ESL students, and 3D design and modeling equipment for 15 Science Olympiad students in 5th to 8th grade.
