Moore Road Multimodal Trail & Linear Park Concept Study Released
King of Prussia District is pleased to present the Moore Road Multimodal Trail and Linear Park Concept Study for public review and comment.
This in-depth study, prepared by the design team of Simone Collins Landscape Architecture and Traffic Planning and Design, Inc., assessed the feasibility and options for a new trail between First Avenue and West Valley Forge Road with dedicated pedestrian infrastructure on either side of Moore Road. After the Moore Road corridor, the design team reviewed options to extend the path to the Schuylkill River Trail West (SRTW), connecting Moore Park to Valley Forge National Historical Park and the Circuit Trail Network.
The proposed pedestrian and bike trail includes amenities such as seating areas, pedestrian lighting and vibrant landscaping. The study is informed by interviews with property owners and stakeholders along the proposed route. With additional public input, King of Prussia District can begin the next step of developing a right-of-way plan and easement agreements with property owners to apply for grant funding to construct the trail in phases.
The connection between commercial and residential properties in Moore Park to the growing network of trails in southeast Pennsylvania will reinforce the transformation of the former business park into a walkable, mixed-use community and broaden car-free transportation opportunities for workers, residents and visitors.
Hear about the proposed Moore Road trail design and next steps during an Open House with the design team on Thursday, March 9 from 6:15-7 PM at the Upper Merion Township Building and the project presentation at the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors Business Meeting starting at 7 PM.
