King of Prussia, PA (May 1, 2018) – Today, King of Prussia District (KOP-BID), along with dineKOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP restaurants, retailers and sponsors, presented a donation of $21,000 to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) King of Prussia Specialty Care & Surgery Center.
“It is truly amazing to see this community join together, year after year, to support a gem in our backyard,” said Eric T. Goldstein, King of Prussia Executive Director. “The CHOP KOP team works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of so many children and their families in Montgomery County and across the state. We are so thankful to have them here in KOP, and proud to support the breakthroughs that happen there every day.”
This marks thefourth year for dineKOP, and the largest donation raised to-date for the weeklong dining event. This year’s event, which took place March 5-11, featured a record 29 participating restaurants offering special prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus where a portion of the proceeds was donated to CHOP. Seventeen of the restaurants also welcomed CHOP ambassador families to dine with them for an unforgettable, complimentary meal during dineKOP.
As part of the dineKOP lineup, KOP-BID debuted KOP Shops for CHOP on Saturday, March 10, a charitable day of giving for local retailers and fast-casual restaurants that featured 20 participating locations. Donations from dineKOP and KOP Shops for CHOP were combined and presented as one large donation of $21,000.
Since the creation of dineKOP, KOP-BID has partnered with CHOP’s King of Prussia Specialty Care & Surgery Center to offer diners the opportunity to dine out for a good cause. In four years, dineKOP has raised $58,000 for the facility.
