King of Prussia District Launches Clean Streets Litter Program to Beautify Major Roadways
King of Prussia is about to get a little cleaner—and a lot more inviting.
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Clean Streets Litter Program, a year-round initiative of our Physical Improvement program aimed at keeping Upper Merion Township’s busiest corridors looking their best.
Clean Streets kicked off on May 27, targeting our community’s most heavily trafficked roads, which welcome over 100,000 vehicles every day. With cleaner streets, we’re reinforcing our commitment to creating a vibrant and attractive community for everyone who lives, works and visits King of Prussia.
King of Prussia District contracted Zizza Highway Services, LLC of Glen Mills, PA to perform the litter removal. The program kicked off with a multi-day intensive clean-up along the Route 202, Route 422 and I-76 interchanges, picking up 2,100 lbs of trash. Additional areas, including Dekalb Pike, North Gulph Road and Guthrie Road, will be added soon. Monthly cleanings will continue through November and then shift to weekly service from December through February. This project is supported in part by funds from the Upper Merion Board of Community Assistance.
Our team will continuously monitor conditions throughout the year, adjusting the schedule and focus areas based on need to ensure we’re making the greatest impact.
“With more than 61 million total trips into King of Prussia in 2024, our roads see a lot of wear and tear,” said Eric Goldstein, President & CEO of King of Prussia District. “It’s a challenge for state services to keep up alone. Clean Streets is a natural extension of the seven acres of landscaping we’ve installed and already maintain throughout the Township.”
Cleaner roadways attract investment, boost civic pride and create a welcoming environment for residents, visitors and businesses alike. That’s what the Clean Streets Litter Program is all about.
