First Avenue Linear Park is About to get Brighter
King of Prussia District, in partnership with Upper Merion Township, invites contractors to bid on the First Avenue Linear Park Lighting Project.
The selected contractor will install 76 solar powered LED pedestrian lights and bollards along the recently completed trail along First Avenue in Moore Park. The project includes the installation of 16 light bollards and 60 architectural luminaires on 12ft poles. All bid documents and details are available here and sealed proposals are accepted online via the PennBid Program until October 20, 2023 at 3 PM.
This project will complete the Linear Park and will make the pathway safe and inviting during both the day and night. Construction over the summer added three final segments to the First Avenue Linear Park and extended the trail at 640 Freedom Business Drive and 830-840 First Avenue, linking North Gulph Road and Allendale Road. In addition to 8 to 10ft-wide pathways, the improvements include new bus stop facilities, accessible curb ramps, trash receptacles and benches. These enhancements and amenities are open to the public and improve pedestrian access and safety along First Avenue.
This project is made possible with funding from King of Prussia District, Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program, and the PA Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.
