Coming Soon: A Place to Recharge on First Avenue

In late 2024, King of Prussia District unveiled plans for its next bold investment in public space: Recharge Park.

Now under construction with the goal of delivering before summer 2026, Recharge Park will transform the western end of First Avenue in Moore Park—between Topgolf and Valley Forge Casino Resort—into a vibrant hub for recreation, relaxation and community connection.

Building on the success of the First Avenue Linear Park, which introduced a new multimodal trail, seating areas and landscaping, Recharge Park will further enhance Moore Park’s central commercial corridor with a unique blend of sustainability, playfulness and community gathering spaces. Designed by King of Prussia–based landscape architects, Stuart & Associates, the park’s theme of “recharging” pays tribute to the site’s former substation and offers a place for employees, residents and visitors to relax, connect and enjoy the outdoors.

Some exciting features of Recharge Park include:

• Sustainable design, with solar-powered lighting and covered outdoor workstations, along with elemental materials that prioritize reuse.
• Playful elements, including swings crafted from repurposed wind turbines and a rock lounge with boulders, stones and a Zen-style garden.
• Community gathering spaces, from a large open lawn for activities that could include yoga, movies and picnics, to smaller work and play nooks, plus a food truck pull-off for events.
• Immersive natural landscapes, highlighted by native grasses, perennials, shrubs and trees.

With support from a Montco 2040 Implementation Grant and capital improvement funds, King of Prussia District is proud to partner with Upper Merion Township, Brandywine Realty Trust, American Baptist Churches USA and local contractor Patriot Grounds & Site Services to make this vision a reality.
