Another Season of Giving: Igloo Garden on the Green & Annual Food Drive
This year, our community once again showed just how much can be accomplished when we come together to support neighbors facing food insecurity.
The 14th Annual KOP Takes Out Hunger Food Drive ran from November 1-December 2 and was produced in partnership with Conlin’s Print and presented once again by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s King of Prussia Campus. Businesses and corporate buildings across King of Prussia stepped up in a big way, hosting a record 45 donation boxes and collecting nonperishable items for Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC). Special thanks to our Platinum Sponsor, Zippy Shell, for making the rounds to collect the food from many of the participating businesses.

Complementing the food drive was the return of our beloved pop-up takeout dining activation, Igloo Garden on the Green, held November 4-18 in King of Prussia Town Center. This year’s event featured six heated igloos, thoughtfully furnished and decorated by AVE King of Prussia and Ethan Allen. Guests enjoyed personal bluetooth speakers, cozy blankets, heating and festive lighting that made each igloo feel like its own winter sanctuary. Adding a fresh touch for 2025, Décor Sponsor Parker Plants & Holiday brightened the space with three beautifully lit trees and additional festive elements. Riehl Structures, our Waiting Room Sponsor, provided a warm and comfortable area for early arrivals. Community turnout exceeded our expectations, with nights and weekends booked solid throughout the event. Over the course of the activation, we welcomed 2,000+ guests, all dining in support of UMACC.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our donors and guests, we proudly presented UMACC with a check for $50,410 — the largest monetary contribution they have ever received. Over the past three years, this initiative has raised an impressive $126,998 to help local families in need. This is a 59% increase from our 2024 donation and equates to around 25,500 pounds of food! We are also grateful to the Upper Merion Area High School football team for once again lending their strength and support during food unloading at our December 2 check presentation.
