SEPTA Recommends Changes to King of Prussia Bus Routes
Since March 2021, SEPTA has evaluated their entire bus network to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each route.
SEPTA conducted several in-person and virtual public meetings as part of their Bus Revolution project and issued the initial draft of recommendations last fall. The goal is to improve route efficiencies throughout the network. This includes increased frequency and additional service in some areas, more direct trips with fewer transfers, adjusting or consolidating some routes and bringing back some service in the existing network. These changes impact all seven existing SEPTA bus routes servicing King of Prussia through Montgomery and Chester Counties. To learn more about the proposed revisions and next steps, visit SEPTA Forward’s Bus Revolution website and view the latest presentation on the bus network adjustments in SEPTA’s virtual Transit Talks.
SEPTA will post updated recommendations this August followed by public hearings scheduled for September. Here is an abridged list showing impacts to bus routes servicing King of Prussia:
- NEW ROUTE: 90/98 – This new route would connect King of Prussia Mall with Norristown Transportation Center and Plymouth Meeting Mall. The frequent service creates a connection traveling on Germantown Pike and Dekalb Pike.
- 92 – Reduction in Service – This route is combined with another existing route (204) but no longer provides direct connection to West Chester and removes service along Devon Park Drive in KOP.
- 95 – Revised Service – This new route would travel from Plymouth Meeting Mall to King of Prussia Mall via Conshohocken. Service would be every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends but the route will travel directly from Swedeland Road to Henderson Road and not travel through Renaissance Park or the Swedeland neighborhood.
- 99 – Reduction in Service – This new route would remove service from First Avenue and Allendale Road. The route follows North Gulph Road to Mall Boulevard and King of Prussia Mall. Service to Henderson Square and Norristown Transportation Center would be removed. Service would be every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends.
- 123 – Route Discontinued – This route to the 69th Street Transportation Center is replaced with service to 30th Street and Market Street.
- 124 – Reduction in Service – This new route would remove service from South Henderson Road. Service would be every 30 or 60 minutes on weekdays and 60 minutes on weekends.
- 125 – Revised Service – This shorter route removes Valley Forge National Historical Park and stops at 30th Street and Market Street instead of 13th and Market Streets. Service will be more frequent most of the time weekdays and weekends.
- 139 – Route Discontinued – This route would be replaced by route 99 and the new Phoenixville On-Demand Zone.
