KOP Takes Out Hunger & Igloo Garden on the Green Bring in Record Donation
This year’s community-wide effort to bring in food and monetary donations for Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) was a huge success!
Our 12th Annual Food Drive, KOP Takes Out Hunger, took place throughout the month of November and was produced in partnership with Conlin’s Print and presented by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Businesses throughout King of Prussia hosted 34 food donation boxes to benefit UMACC.
We also brought back our magical Igloo Garden on the Green. From November 7-14, six beautifully lit and furnished igloos, complete with heaters and individual bluetooth speakers inside, were set up in King of Prussia Town Center’s green space and were available for a $15/per person (daytime) or $20/person (nighttime) reservation fee, which went to UMACC. This experiential event was a huge success and was met with a lot of interest, fully booking on nights and weekends within weeks of opening reservations for a total of 333 reservations and 1,009 guests.
Thanks to everyone who reserved an igloo, gave a food donation and supported the event through sponsorship, we were thrilled to present $24,340 to UMACC (62% increase from 2023’s donation), along with 3,135+ lbs of food and household item donations. Special thanks to the Upper Merion Area High School football team for helping us unload!
