King of Prussia Community Comes Together to Help Neighbors in Need
Businesses in King of Prussia came together for a great cause this November for King of Prussia District’s 11th annual Holiday Food Drive, produced in partnership with Conlin’s Print. The month-long drive benefited Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC), which serves anyone who is hungry or food insufficient and lives within Upper Merion Area School District. Nineteen different businesses hosted twenty six donation boxes, the largest number of participating businesses to date.
The food drive ended with a BANG on November 30 with the Stuff-A-Truck drive-through food drive at King of Prussia Town Center. Despite the brisk day, Starbucks and Kilwin’s kept donors toasty warm and full of tasty treats, with hot coffee, pastries and chocolate. Those that donated also were eligible to enter to win a $100 Visa gift card, hopefully to spend at their favorite King of Prussia business! The team at Budget Maintenance donated their time and truck to help us collect donation boxes and stuff a 16’ box truck full of non-perishable donations from 10 AM – 3 PM. The Upper Merion Area High School Football team also volunteered to lend a hand to unload and sort through the donations at UMACC.
We are proud to announce that the business and resident community donated a grand total of 3,500 lbs of food and goods for UMACC, in addition to $500 donated by Conlin’s Print! A big thank you to all the participating locations and those who donated. This community has rallied around UMACC and their mission to support our most vulnerable neighbors. If you did not have a chance to donate, please consider making donation online.
