Community Comes Together for KOP Takes Out Hunger
The community joined together to support those who are food insufficient in Upper Merion Area School District during a month of giving for the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC).
Our 11th Annual Food Drive, KOP Takes Out Hunger, took place throughout the month of November and was produced in partnership with Conlin’s Print and presented by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Twenty three businesses and buildings throughout King of Prussia hosted thirty donation boxes to benefit UMACC.
This year, we also introduced Igloo Garden on the Green. From November 14-20, five beautifully lit and furnished igloos were set up in King of Prussia Town Center’s green space and were available for a $15/per person reservation fee. This experiential event was a huge success and was met with a lot of interest, fully booking on nights and weekends within weeks of opening reservations with a total of 242 reservations and 779 guests.
Thanks to everyone who booked an igloo, gave a food donation and supported the event through sponsorship, we were thrilled to present $15,000 to UMACC, along with 3,262 lbs of food and household item donations. Special thanks to the Upper Merion Area High School football team for helping us unload!
