Bringing Art to Motion at Recharge Park
This spring, King of Prussia District invites artists to help transform a series of large-scale swings into vibrant public art installations, adding a new layer of color, creativity and community identity to Recharge Park, coming soon to Moore Park in King of Prussia.
This Call for Artists marks an exciting opportunity to turn large park features into something beautiful and unique. The project centers on four recycled turbine swings that will become canvases for original artwork. Once complete, these pieces will serve as both functional seating and interactive public art, blending sustainability and creativity to reflect the District’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful, high-quality placemaking.
Artists are encouraged to interpret themes that connect directly to the spirit of the community. Concepts may explore nature and local ecology, local history, movement or reflection of the strength and resilience of community. Whether abstract or representational, each design should contribute to a cohesive and engaging experience for park visitors.
Selected artists will receive $1,250 per swing to bring their designs to life, inclusive of all materials and labor. Artists may apply to design one swing or propose a cohesive vision for all four. The opportunity is open to local and regional artists, with submissions welcomed from individuals or teams. While public art experience is encouraged, it is not required.
Artists interested in applying are encouraged to submit a concept proposal, with full instructions here.
Submissions are due May 8, with selected artists announced shortly after. Installation will take place in late spring, culminating in a public unveiling on June 4.
We look forward to partnering with artists to bring these swings to life and further enhance the experience of Recharge Park for all who visit.
