District Digest: Giving Back

At King of Prussia District, giving back to the community is a core part of who we are.
From celebrating our first responders to supporting children’s health, addressing food insecurity and investing in the next generation of leaders, we proudly help make KOP a vibrant, connected and compassionate place to live and do business.
Since 2011, we’ve rallied our business community each holiday season to support local food relief efforts. From 2011 to 2016, we partnered with GVF to host the Heart & Healthy Holiday Food Drive, benefiting Philabundance. In 2017, we began working with Conlin’s Print to raise food and funds for the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC). In 2022, we introduced Igloo Garden on the Green—an innovative activation in the King of Prussia Town Center—to support UMACC. In just the past three years, that initiative alone raised $71,588 for families in our community.
In addition to addressing food insecurity, we also support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s King of Prussia Campus with a powerful community-wide campaign. What began as a small restaurant week has evolved into KOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP, which now includes local businesses of all kinds, residents and even online donors. In 2025, we raised $72,110—our second highest total ever. Over the past 11 years, this initiative has generated an incredible $496,116 for CHOP KOP.
We also take pride in supporting a wide variety of local events and organizations that bring our community together and celebrate what makes King of Prussia special. This includes sponsoring Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board’s Golf Outings, the Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run, Upper Merion Township’s National Night Out, Concerts Under the Stars and the Police Car Show. We also support youth-focused organizations like the Upper Merion Baseball & Softball Association and the Upper Merion Township Crew Team, helping to empower and uplift the next generation.
In 2018, we launched a scholarship fund for students and teachers in the Upper Merion Area School District. This initiative helps build a stronger bridge between the business and education communities and supports future leaders. So far, we’ve invested $34,500 through this program.
Our appreciation for first responders remains steadfast. In 2024, we marked our fifth annual First Responders Appreciation Week, hosted in partnership with Upper Merion Township. We served five breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners to fire, police, and EMS teams—meals prepared by 14 local restaurants and funded by generous sponsors. We also donated $2,000 to the Department of Public Safety, bringing our cumulative contribution to $6,900. While no gesture can truly match their daily sacrifice, this week offers a heartfelt way for our business community to say thank you.
We’re also proud to invest in impactful, forward-looking projects that shape the future of King of Prussia. These include a $75,000 contribution toward construction of the Valley Forge Park Alliance’s new headquarters at the historic Maurice Stephens House, another $75,000 for landscape improvements along Henderson Roadway through the Upper Merion Township Transportation Authority and a $26,000 investment in a Township-wide Fiscal Impact Analysis conducted by Urban3 in 2024. This analysis will help evaluate how different land uses affect local finances and inform smarter, more sustainable development strategies.
Together with our partners, neighbors and local leaders, we’re proud to build a stronger, more connected King of Prussia. These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to community, and we look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
