Community Who Cares: FamilyMatters

Through our Community Who Cares series, King of Prussia District is proud to spotlight the nonprofits and organizations working every day to strengthen our community.

One of the newest organizations making a meaningful impact in King of Prussia is FamilyMatters, a resource center dedicated to helping children and families navigate life’s most difficult moments with steady, compassionate support.

FamilyMatters is the first expansion office of JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options), a nonprofit founded in South Florida in 1992. In April 2014, FamilyMatters launched its intensive Family Strengthening program to serve children and families throughout Greater Philadelphia. Since then, the organization has grown into a trusted partner for all families facing crisis, trauma or overwhelming challenges, offering immediate, barrier-free support at no cost and for as long as it is needed.

When families find the courage to reach out for help, FamilyMatters is there. The team responds within 24-hours, ensuring that no one has to navigate hardship alone. Services are personalized and delivered by Master’s level clinicians, meeting families where they are, whether at home, at school or within the community, to create comfortable and effective pathways toward stability.

FamilyMatters’ work centers around five core programs designed to strengthen and support the entire family. Its Family Strengthening services provide intensive guidance and resources to help households remain safe and stable. Enrichment programs offer children engaging experiences while giving caregivers time to recharge, easing stress across the family. The organization also provides supervised visitation in a safe, structured setting when ordered by family court, helping rebuild parent-child relationships with professional oversight. Support groups connect caregivers and siblings with others facing similar challenges, creating community alongside clinical expertise.

Rooted in Jewish values and cultural understanding, FamilyMatters proudly serves families of all backgrounds without regard to race, color, national origin or religion. By eliminating traditional barriers such as insurance requirements, ability to pay or limits on service duration, the organization ensures that help is accessible to those who need it most.
