King of Prussia District to Host Igloo Dining Pop Up in KOP Town Center During Food Drive to Raise Money for Local Food Pantry
King of Prussia, PA (October 17, 2022) –King of Prussia District opened reservations today for Igloo Garden on the Green, a unique takeout dining space popping up in the heart of King of Prussia Town Center’s green space, November 14-20 from 12-9 PM (last reservation at 8 PM). Bookable exclusively through OpenTable, the five cozy igloos furnished by AVE King of Prussia offer an intimate setting for your takeout meal (no restaurant service onsite). Each dreamy heated igloo has a max capacity of 6 guests and requires a $15 per person donation to Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard to reserve. Igloo Garden on the Green will feature live music on select evenings.
The outdoor dining space is the newest addition to the District’s 11th Annual Food Drive, KOP Takes Out Hunger, which is co-hosted by Conlin’s Print and benefits the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC). Presented by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), the food drive runs November 1-30 with 20+ boxes throughout King of Prussia for community members and KOP’s employees to make their non-perishable donations. Igloo Garden on the Green will raise much-needed funds for UMACC, in addition to collecting food donations.
“Our igloos first popped up during 2021 KOP Restaurant Week and were so popular that we raised nearly $10,000 for CHOP,” said Eric Goldstein, President & CEO of King of Prussia District. “We are thrilled to bring them back, this time in KOP Town Center, to raise funds for UMACC. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the pantry, which is currently experiencing a huge demand while also seeing an overall decrease in donations.”
Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) is a food pantry open to anyone who lives within the bounds of the Upper Merion Area School District and is hungry or food insufficient. The UMACC is located within the Valley Forge Presbyterian building at 191 Town Center Road in King of Prussia.
