King of Prussia District named Partners in Philanthropy honoree by Philadelphia Business Journal
King of Prussia District is proud to announce that it was named an honoree of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2024 Partners in Philanthropy awards program.
The District was selected for its support of Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) through the Igloo Garden on the Green pop-up installation at King of Prussia Town Center.
From November 7-14, 2023, over 1,000 guests dined in Igloo Garden on the Green’s six magical igloos, each paying a $15-20 donation to UMACC through OpenTable. Diners brought in food from a wide variety of different King of Prussia restaurants, from Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse to Shake Shack and everything in between. Throughout the week, the dreamy igloos were host to birthday parties, girls’ nights, anniversary celebrations and even a wedding proposal (she said yes!). Through Igloo Garden on the Green and the KOP Takes Out Hunger Food Drive, which ran November 1-30, King of Prussia District raised $24,340 and collected 3,283 lbs. of food for Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard.
“Igloo Garden on the Green is a great example of how businesses can join together to support a worthy cause in the community in a truly unique and unforgettable way,” said Eric Goldstein, President & CEO of King of Prussia District. “We are grateful that CBRE and King of Prussia Town Center allowed us the space to create this memorable experience for diners and take our annual food drive to the next level.”
The 2024 Partners in Philanthropy awards program recognizes 25 partnerships that support an array of causes like food insecurity, education, literacy, workforce development and health care. Nominees of the Partners in Philanthropy awards were submitted by the public and reviewed by the Business Journal’s editorial board. Award recipients will be recognized at an in-person awards program on April 11 and profiled in a special edition of the Business Journal on April 12.
