In the wake of the tragedy that befell the Lukens family when a Dec. 13, 2017, fire swept through their home in Schwenksville, taking the lives of their two young boys Bryan Jr. and Parker, four groups dedicated to helping the families of first-responders and children-in-need are joining forces to create a Jan. 20, 2018, fundraiser for the family.
“A Night For The Lukens Family” fundraiser will take place 5-9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, with the goal of raising $200,000 for the family. One hundred percent—100%—of all money raised through ticket sales, sponsorships and raffles will go directly to Sheriff Deputy Bryan Lukens and his wife, Tracy, and their daughter, Sophia. The Lukens family has sanctioned the organization of this fundraiser on their behalf.
Four groups—Montgomery County Hero Fund, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office “Wheels of Justice” team, Irish Pub Children’s Foundation and The A-Team—are organizing the “A Night For The Lukens Family” fundraiser, which will include food from dozens of area restaurants and eateries, drinks, dancing to the band Wildflower and Showtime DJs Mike Valyo, multiple gift baskets to be raffled off, and other activities. Special guest appearances are being finalized and will be announced at a later date.
